Private Abner F. Power was a member of the Marine detachment aboard the battleship USS Arizona. He was aboard on 7 December 1941 when his ship was bombed and sunk by Japanese aircraft at the battle of Pearl Harbor.Power’s remains were never identified, and are believed to rest aboard the Arizona to this day.

  1. While visiting the USS Arizona monument in 2015, I read the names of all those sailors that lost their lives on that day. I committed one to memory and each year I share this individual’s name to honor his sacrifice to our country. Thank you Private Abner Power!
