Paul Herrick will be honored at the 80th anniversary ceremony at Kenosha American Legion Post 21 (Paul Herrick Post) on December 7, 2021. We have received a flag which flew over the Arizona memorial and have created a shadow box with Paul’s picture, the Arizona memorial picture, and a brief about his life.
I recently learned my father’s cousin had an American Legion Post named after him. I visited his mother with my family when I was 5 in 1956. I was told I was visiting my father’s aunt in Kenosha who lost a son on the Arizona. But little if any was talked about. Learning, recently ,his mother did not attend the dedication of the Post now explains why.
My father died in 1965 and nothing about Paul was ever learned.
It is wonderful to know that the Legion carries his name and it gives me great pride Paul’s sacrifice is so honored.
