The isolated grave of a single unknown individual.
Very little is known about this grave, which was situated near Red Beach One a few yards inland from “Resistance Point” and Cemetery 17. It is not mentioned specifically in the report of the 604th Quartermaster Graves Registration Company. Any remains found here were ultimately identified, as there is no current Betio X-file associated with Cemetery 21.
