| CIRCUMSTANCES OF LOSS Corporal Duel L. Niswonger was a member of the Marine detachment aboard the cruiser USS Houston. He was last seen aboard his ship on 1 March 1942, when she was sunk in the battle of Sunda Strait. Niswonger’s body was never found, and he was officially declared dead on 15 December 1945. |

This was my mother’s brother. I never got to meet him. I would hear the family talk about him but that was all. I have a picture of him in his uniform my mother had. I don’t know what to do with the picture. My mother has passed away along with her mother & father as is all his siblings. I read an article and it stated no picture of him was available.is there a museum of the wars we have been in.
I am now 71 myself and would like to see the picture go somewhere for it to be displayed.
