CIRCUMSTANCES OF LOSS Private Eugene Brickley was a member of the Marine detachment aboard the battleship USS Arizona. He was aboard on 7 December 1941 when the ship, struck by bombs that detonated her forward magazine, sank to the bottom of Pearl Harbor. Brickley was not seen after the attack, and was declared dead as of 7 December 1941. |

Thank you for publishing the article on Eugene Brickley. Iin-law heard of him from my late Mother- in-law Blanche D.(Brickley) Kirby. I got out of touch with her relatives after her death. I was happy to find this site. Now my children & grandchildren may learn of the event
