Circumstances Of Loss

PFC Jerome Miller was a Marine radioman and gunner stationed at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina.

On 9 November 1943, Miller and 2Lt. Samuel Solomon departed Atlantic Field for an authorized scheduled flight. A mishap of unknown origin caused their aircraft to crash at sea four miles off the North Carolina coast. Neither Marine was seen to exit the aircraft, and both were reported dead from injuries on this date. No remains were recovered from the scene.
